Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Skolight. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Skolight.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Skolight. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Skolight only with the consent and involvement of a parent, guardian, or school.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it current.

Acceptable use

When using Skolight, you agree not to:

• Upload content you don't have the right to use, or that infringes others' rights.
• Use the service to break the law or to create harmful, abusive, or deceptive material.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service or its safeguards.
• Resell or share your account, or circumvent plan limits and metering.

Your content

You keep ownership of the materials you upload and the notes, decks, and other work you create in Skolight. To run the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the features to you — for example, sending it to AI providers to generate your notes and exams.

We do not use your content to train our own models, and we do not claim ownership of it.

AI-generated output

Skolight uses AI to generate notes, summaries, flashcards, quizzes, exams, and tutor answers. AI can be wrong or incomplete. Output is provided to support your learning, not as professional, medical, legal, or financial advice. Always verify important facts against authoritative sources before relying on them — especially for graded work or high-stakes decisions.

Subscriptions, billing, and credits

• Skolight offers Free, Basic, Pro, and Ultra plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through our payment processor.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing; access continues until the end of the current period.
• Plans include daily allowances (such as AI words and imports) that reset each day; one-time credit packs add non-expiring words.
• Except where required by law, payments and used credits are non-refundable.
• We may change prices or plan features; we'll give reasonable notice of material changes, and changes won't apply retroactively to a period you've already paid for.

Our intellectual property

Skolight, including its software, design, and branding, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or to copy or modify the service beyond normal use.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using Skolight and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to others or to Skolight. Where practical, we'll give you notice.

Disclaimers

Skolight is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skolight and its team won't be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Skolight evolves. When changes are material, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use Skolight after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
