An AI exam generator for practice tests built from your course
Skolight's AI exam generator turns your lecture notes, slides, and readings into a full mock exam - timed, scored, and analyzed - so the real thing feels like something you've already done.

How it works
- 1
Choose what the exam covers
Select the lectures, PDFs, notes, or recordings in a subject's Space. The exam is built only from what you picked.
- 2
Set it up like the real one
Pick the time limit, the difficulty, how many of each question type, and describe the exam style you're preparing for.
- 3
Sit it, then review
Take it under a running clock, see your score instantly, and get an analysis of your weak points with a study plan to fix them.
What you get
A real exam clock
Set anything from a one-minute drill to a ten-hour paper. The timer is kept on the server, so a reload or a dropped connection doesn't reset it, and you can pause and resume.
Your question mix
Choose how many multiple-choice, select-all, true/false, and fill-in-the-blank questions you want, up to 50 of each.
Exam-style questions
Describe the standard you are preparing for - a course code, "final-year level", or an exam board style - and the questions follow it.
Nothing gets lost
Answers save as you go and you can flag questions to come back to, just like a real exam paper.
Weak-point analysis
After you submit, Skolight analyzes your mistakes, explains each answer, and recommends what to revise next.
From mistakes to a plan
Turn the topics you got wrong into a study plan in one step, then retake the exam to see your progress.
Why mock exams work
Practice testing is one of only two study techniques rated "high utility" in a major 2013 review of learning research by Dunlosky and colleagues (the other is spacing out your study). Answering questions under exam conditions trains the exact skill the exam measures: retrieving what you know, under time pressure, without your notes.
Mock exams also show you what you don't know while there is still time to fix it. A score on its own isn't much use; a list of the topics you lost marks on is. That is why every Skolight exam ends with an analysis of your weak points and an option to build a revision plan around them.
A good rhythm is one mock exam a week or two before the real one, focused revision on the weak topics it reveals, and a retake a few days later to confirm they've improved.
